This Week on KPR Presents

Freedom to Serve
As the U.S. military reviews its controversial "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy on gays serving openly, KPR Presents "Freedom to Serve." We'll look at the role of blacks and women in the military, and how those lessons can be applied to gays. "Freedom to Serve" was moderated by NPR Senior News Analyst Juan Williams, and held at the Truman Presidential Library and Museum in Independence, MO.

Your old car is our treasure!

Kansas Public Radio joined forces with Denver-based Vehicles for Charity to give listeners a new way to support public radio. If you have a usable but unwanted vehicle, call VFC's toll-free number 1-877-308-2408 to arrange for a pickup. The vehicle is then auctioned. KPR receives 70 percent of the net proceeds. The other 30 percent goes to VFC's partner, Denver's ARC, a group that provides advocacy and support services to individuals with disabilities and their families. We can accept your vehicle regardless of age.
Since beginning the program, donated cars have earned KPR more than $100,000.00 .

Find out more about the process of donating a car and get answers to frequently asked quesions at the Vehicles for Charity website. Thank you for your support.

BENEFITS OF DONATING YOUR CAR:

  • Pick up of donated vehicle
  • We accept cars, trucks, RVs, motorcycles and boats
  • It's tax deductible. Vehicles for Charity provides all the required receipts and documentation
