Moran Defends Record on Abortion Opposition   Date: July 28, 2010
Kansas Congressman Jerry Moran says his opposition to abortion is a matter of faith for him. Moran is responding to a statement by a former manager of his U-S Senate campaign that Moran has hesitated to describe himself as conservative or "pro-life" to avoid alienating moderate voters. Former campaign manager Paul Moore stood by those statements yesterday (WED). And the National Right to Life Committee endorsed Moran's main rival in the Senate race, fellow GOP Congressman Todd Tiahrt. Moran has never broken with the national group in voting on abortion issues in Congress. The group's statement didn't mention Moran but focused on praising Tiahrt as an anti-abortion leader. The state's primary is Tuesday.
