| Item Listing | Feds Say Texas Man Had More than 460,000 Ecstasy Pills Date: March 5, 2010 A 21-year-old Texas man faces federal drug charges after authorities say he was found with 436,000 Ecstasy pills. Edgar Juarez of San Antonio, Texas, is charged with possession with intent to distribute the Ecstasy. U-S Attorney Lanny Welch said yesterday (THUR) that the crime is alleged to have occurred last year in Ellis County.
Juarez initially was arrested by the Kansas Highway Patrol during a traffic stop on Interstate 70. If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison and a fine up to $1 million. Welch's office also announced federal indictments of 17 other people, including Felipe Ruiz, of Norwich, Connecticut, who was arrested after allegedly landing his plane at the airport in Liberal with a load of cocaine.
