| Item Listing | Settlement Reached in Foreign Exchange Student Lawsuit Date: February 2, 2010 A settlement has been reached in a lawsuit against a former Buhler High School teacher convicted of molesting a foreign exchange student. The father of the South Korean student filed the lawsuit last July in Reno County against 70-year-old Richard Young. He also sued Face the World Foundation, a Novato, California, agency that placed the boy in Young's home. Young was convicted in October 2008 of several counts involving crimes against the teen, who was 15 at the time. Young was sentenced to 13 and a half years in prison. Yesterday (MON), attorneys for those involved in the lawsuit said the settlement had been reached but declined to provide details. Young is appealing his convictions and has denied the allegations. Face the World also denied any negligence or wrongdoing.
