NEWS FLASH: The city of Atchison remains under a boil-water order due to a water line break at a pumping station. Water service is gradually being restored to the city, but officials said today (TUE) that the water will not immediately be safe to drink. A water line burst yesterday (MON) morning, flooding the city's water plant and knocking out two water pumps. That left more than 10,000 residents without water. Officials say that it will take several hours to refill the city's water towers and restore water pressure to homes. In the meantime, a boil-water order remains in effect in Atchison.

Summer Happenings At Two Area Museums
With the heat of summer upon us, it's a great time to visit local museums. We'll go to the Watkins Community Museum of History in downtown Lawrence and look at a traveling Smithsonian Institution exhibit on American roots music. We'll also talk to Marc Wilson, director of the Nelson-Atkins Museum in Kansas City, Missouri, as the new Bloch Building celebrates its first anniversary.

From the Top is coming to Lawrence!

The hit radio show, heard on more than 250 stations, will tape a broadcast show at KU’s Lied Center on Tuesday, July 15 at 7:30pm. The weekly radio showcase of America's top young classical musicians, hosted by internationally renowned pianist Christopher O'Riley, will feature musicians from across the country. The show partners gifted young classical musicians with renowned classical artists in radio broadcasts that capture the top-notch musicianship, offbeat humor and insights of America's best rising and established performers.
