Cinema a Go-Go: Tiki Night!
Friday, June 27, 2014, 07:00pm

There's a rumble in the jungle at our next Cinema a Go-Go! We'll be screening two glorious Technicolor epics from the 1940s and '50s. Cobra Woman (1944) stars the voluptuous Maria Montez in a dual role as the evil queen of Cobra Island and her separated-at-birth twin sister. In The Naked Jungle (1954) Charlton Heston is the two-fisted owner of a South American coffee plantation besieged by a 20-mile wide column of flesh-eating soldier ants.

ShowUsTikiJoin us on Friday, June 27, 7 p.m., at Liberty Hall in downtown Lawrence for another night of incredibly strange cinema! AND, if you come with or wearing a tiki, you could be rewarded. The first ten tikis we see (carved statues, tiki jewelry, tiki shirts, etc.) get into Cinema a Go-Go free of charge!

Tickets are $7, available at the door.

FSF-logo-2The Lawrence Arts Center’s Free State Festival is a five-day celebration of film, music, art and ideas, and KPR is included in the mix of festivities. Cinema a Go-Go is a featured film event, and we're also sponsoring a Story Slam with NPR contributor Kevin Kling. Click HERE for more information.
